UKVI update on UK Visa application as below;
VFS are opening as many appointments as possible each day – and opening them for the next working day (i.e. 24 hours in advance). Applicants can book the first available appointment and then keep checking their application so see if an earlier one becomes available. If so, they can cancel the initial one and rebook for the earlier one.
- Appointments will be available every day. But they are liked to be booked very quickly.
- UKVI’s service standards are: 15 working days for a standard appointment; 5 working days for Priority Visa, next day for Super Priority visa. If the visa application is within those timescales, it’s better to wait instead of chasing UKVI.
What can people do if they’ve left it too late for their travels?
- VFS will open a fresh slots every 24 hours to ensure a handful are open each day. Appointments are available each day.
- Priority Visas and Super Priority Visa Service can be applied for on-line or at the VAC.
- Use a walk-in-appointment – turn up at the VAC at 08.30 each day and await for the first available slot. VFS can do up to 10 a day but currently handling lots more. This can be combined with SPV or PV.
- Prime Time – VFS later-in-the-afternoon service and Saturday service at the VAC. This can be combined with PV (not SPV)
- Passport pass back: receive your passport back whilst at your VAC appointment, travel somewhere else and then return your passport to after your first travels so UKVI can complete the UK visa application.
