The UK is simplifying the visa process for students. From 6th July, eligible Tier 4 applicants from Thailand do not need to provide evidence of finances, previous qualifications, or English language ability when they apply. Followings are summary of the changes from UKVI:
What is changing?
The list of countries and competent authorities which benefit from the streamlined documentary requirements has been updated. We have added 11 additional new countries and competent authorities for inclusion. The rules have also been amended to allow nationals to apply from their country of residence to bring this in line with other applications.
When will the change take place?
The change took effect on the 6 July 2018.
Who is affected?
Students from Bahrain, Cambodia, China, the Dominican Republic, Indonesia, Kuwait, Macau SAR, the Maldives, Mexico, Serbia and Thailand will now be able to apply under Appendix H. All nationals who are eligible to apply under Appendix H will also now be able to apply from their country of residence, rather than their country of nationality.
What documents are students from countries and competent authority in Appendix H exempt from providing?
Students will not need to submit evidence to show that they meet the requirements for maintenance, submit their previous qualifications or evidence of their English language ability. However, they do still need to meet these requirements. We reserve the right to request this evidence and will do so for a random sample of applications.
Are there any circumstances when the full set of documents will be required?
Yes, we reserve the right to request this documentation and will be doing so for a random sample of students applying from an Appendix H country or competent authority.
