Quid
ความหมาย: Pounds (เงินปอนด์).
ตัวอย่าง: “This ice cream cost me 5 quid”. (ไอศครีมแท่งนี้ราคา 5 ปอนด์)
You alright?
ความหมาย: How are you?
When friends or acquaintances ask you this, they are not asking if you are feeling ill, or if you are
recovering from an illness. They would be expecting a general and brief response to your current state
of mind.
เมื่อเพื่อนถามคำถามนี้ขึ้นมา ไม่ได้จะถามว่าคุณป่วยหรือเพิ่งฟื้นไข้หรอกนะ แค่อยากได้คำตอบสั้นๆ ว่าตอนนี้คุณเป็นยังไงบ้าง

ความหมาย: Joke around, make fun of. (ล้อเล่น)
ตัวอย่าง: “Are you taking the mick? Or are you being serious?” (นี่เธอล้อเล่นใช่มั้ย หรือพูดจริงกันแน่)
Bear with me
ความหมาย: Please hold on. (รอแป๊บนึง)
ตัวอย่าง: “Let me check my records, bear with me!” (ขอเช็คที่จดไว้ก่อน รอแป๊บนึงนะ)
Fit
ความหมาย: good looking. (ดูดี)
ตัวอย่าง: “that actor is fit!” (พระเอกคนนั้นดูดีจัง)
Rubbish
ความหมาย: really bad (แย่มาก)
เมื่อคำว่า ‘rubbish’ เอามาใช้เป็นคำขยาย ไม่ได้หมายความถึงขยะนะคะ แต่หมายถึงสิ่งที่แย่มาก
ตัวอย่าง: “That movie was rubbish! I slept through most of it” (หนังเรื่องนั้นแย่มาก! ฉันหลับเกือบทั้งเรื่อง)

ความหมาย: Sad, a shame (เสียใจ, เสียดาย)

Knackered
ความหมาย: Exhausted, really tired. (เหนื่อยมาก)
ตัวอย่าง: “I’m absolutely knackered today because I didn’t sleep at all last night” (วันนี้ฉันเหนื่อยมาก เพราะเมื่อคืนไม่ได้นอนเลย)

ความหมาย: Are you joking? (เล่นมุขใช่มั้ย?)
