Lunch Options in the UK
If you find yourself rushing between lectures as a student in the UK, then have a look at these affordable and quick lunch options we have for you below! They are ranked from the cheapest to the most expensive.
Greggs

Greggs is Britain’s largest bakery. It is very popular in the North of England and Newcastle holds the record for the highest number of branches in a city at 31. It sells pastries, sandwiches, cakes, bread, drinks and tea/coffee. People usually come here to buy sausage rolls and other pastries as it is quick, cheap and hot. It is like buying grilled pork (Moo Ping) or Isaan Sausage (Sai-Grok Isaan) here in Thailand as that is also quick, easy, hot and cheap.

Tesco Meal Deal
Tesco has a well-known meal deal which includes a sandwich, wrap, pasta or salad with a snack (crisps, chocolate or cake) and a drink. This is a quick, easy and affordable option and Tesco can be found easily on the high streets of most cities.

Pret A Manger
This can be considered more of an expensive fast food place. But at lunch time they do have some affordable food items as shown in the menu below. The food options are a bit more modern and exciting than other places.

Marks and Spencer (M&S)
Marks and Spencer is also considered to be a more expensive supermarket in the UK with a huge range of modern and luxury food items. They have some fantastic lunch options with a variety of not only sandwiches, but salads, pastas, soup and noodles in combination with great snacks, candy and drinks.

This is another great restaurant option and is included here because they have a fantastic promotion of 50% off all dishes every Monday. It is a nice restaurant serving modern European style dishes.

EAT.
EAT. is usually found around London and can always be found in major international airports. It is another more expensive restaurant/café and serves a huge variety of food covering cuisines from all over the world.

Nandos
This is very popular amongst the Thai students who study in the UK as it serves some very delicious Portuguese style grilled chicken. It has other bonuses to it such as delicious side dishes and free refills on soft drinks. The service is quick and efficient and it does not take long for your food to get served. This is a good mixture between a fast food place and a restaurant. You can have a look at their food prices below.
