Today, Hands On counsellors will share the basic steps for applying for further study. That students need to consider. First, you need to meet the qualifications set out by the university. With each university having similar criteria, let’s take a look at what you need to prepare.
📌 Required Application Documents for Further Study in the United States of America 📌
- Online Application and Application Fee – some universities will waive the application fee for those who apply via Hands On
- English Language Score (TOEFL or IELTS) – proof of your English language proficiency
- Standardize Test (UG – SAT/ACT, PG – GMAT/GRE) – for some programmes, additional test scores may be required
- Academic Transcript – from your secondary school or university. Some universities will require students who have completed their studies outside of the United States to provide an Evaluation Transcript from an American organisation. Such as World Education Services (WES), Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE), or National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). Depending on the university, students have to pay the fee themselves.
- Recommendation Letters – you must provide at least 2-3 recommendation letters, either from your teacher or manager (for those with work experience)
- Certificate of completion – certificate of work that does not specify the recipient for your initial application
- Personal Statement and Supplemental Essay (Topic required by University) – a letter of an overview about who you are and why you want to study this particular course. That the Admission Committee will use to inform their decision regarding your application
- Resume/CV – a summary of your work experience, as well as any other relevant information about yourself
- Professional certificate (if applicable) – work experience documents or other certificates
- Copy of passport – a copy of your passport
- Bank statement, Bank letter or scholarship letter showing proof of sufficient funds – a financial statement certifying the applicant’s financial status. Showing the applicant’s income and expenses for at least the past 6 months or more depending on the university. The statement must show the converted amount from Thai Baht (THB) to US Dollars (USD). With the applicant’s name (and if applicable, the name of the financial sponsor). The amount specified on the statement must cover both tuition and living expenses for the entire duration of the applicant’s studies.
- Declaration of Finances Form or Affidavit of Support – financial documents confirming the financial status of the sponsor (in the case that the applicant has a financial sponsor, such as a parent or relative)
All documents should be prepared in English on official letterheads. If the original document is unable to present. Then an officially certified photocopy can be used in its place.
