University of Lincoln

The University of Lincoln was opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 2 in 1996, and more than 85,000 students from 130 countries have chosen to study with us. University of Lincoln has around 16,000 students across its four academic colleges, covering arts, science, business and social sciences subjects with more than 300 courses available in total at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Everything we do is geared towards giving our students the best experience possible, and that’s why we are rated 17th in the UK in the Guardian University Guide 2020 and 12th for student satisfaction in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019.

We pride ourselves on the quality of our teaching too, which is reflected in our Gold Award in the national Teaching Excellence Framework 2017. We were one of only 59 higher education providers out of almost 300 entered into the TEF to receive Gold – the highest standard possible.

All of this is intended to give you the strongest possible foundation for your future career, but Lincoln is steeped in history too. All of our students graduate in the majestic Lincoln Cathedral, and many say this unique, medieval setting is the perfect way to end their rewarding time with us.

The total number of students is 15,500 students and 1,500 international students.

Our popular programmes are Hospitality, Events Management and Tourism (1st in UK); Marketing (accredited by Chartered Institute of Marketing); International Business (links with KPMG, Land Rover and Jaguar, etc); Engineering (Siemens partner link); Journalism (Thomson Reuters link) and Media (links with the BBC).
