Adelphi University was founded in Brooklyn in 1896, Adelphi is Long Island’s oldest private coeducational university. Today Adelphi serves almost 8,000 students at its beautiful main campus in Garden City, New York—just 23 miles from New York City’s cultural and internship opportunities—and at dynamic learning hubs in Manhattan, the Hudson Valley and Suffolk County, and online.

Adelphi University is a highly awarded, nationally ranked, powerfully connected doctoral research university offering exceptional liberal arts and sciences programs and professional training with particular strength in its Core Four—Arts and Humanities, STEM and Social Sciences, the Business and Education Professions, and Health and Wellness. Different programs for students from bachelor’s degree to doctorate degree are offered at the university with more than 60 undergraduate majors and 65 graduate programs in our 8 schools and colleges. Today, Adelphi serves over 8,000 undergraduate students from over 46 countries around the world. The student-teacher ratio is 10:1 which make it possible for teachers to look after every student.

The university offers more than 50 majors such as Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Computer Science, Nursing, Sport Management and Psychology. Five-year dual bachelor’s and master’s degree programs are also available at Adelphi.  The average GPA of the whole university is 3.4 guaranteeing that Adelphi University has the ability to produce highly qualified graduates.  Moreover, there are over 90,000 Adelphi alumni who are ready to provide great opportunities for their juniors in various fields. Internship opportunities at leading firms like AIG, Goldman Sachs, JetBlue Airways, JP Morgan, PepsiCo, Pfizer Inc., Philip Morris International, Time Warner and Verizon are available for Adelphi students.

Adelphi University is located in New York, a city that never sleeps. New York is full of learning recourses such as Jones Beach State Park, a major park in Long Island Garden City area. It is also a centre of many restaurants and shops as well as world-class museums which can be great learning resources outside the classroom for students.  Adelphi University is only 37 kilometres from New York Downtown, and only 19 kilometres from JFK airport. Students can take a train from Penn Station to New York Downtown within 45 minutes.

Students are welcome to Adelphi. The campus is located in the picturesque village of Garden City, New York, which offers a variety of restaurants, shopping, recreational activities and places to stay. When you’re ready to explore further, just pick a direction. From Long Island’s world-famous beaches on the south shore to our historic Gold Coast to the north to the villages and wineries on the east end. The place offer something for everyone. And the greatest city in the world–New York City—is right next door. The university has both on and off campus dormitories with full facilities and 24-hour security system under the supervision of the university staff available for students.
