Long Island University, Brooklyn

Long Island University, Brooklyn has deep historic roots that stretch back to 1926, when the New York Board of Regents granted LIU a provisional charter. The university founders were committed to admitting students based on merit and promise alone, never impeding their enrollment because of their sex, race, religion, or national origin. This was a unique and progressive philosophy during an age that was often defined by quotas and discrimination.
