For more than 100 years, Laurier has been a premier destination for students who excel outside the classroom as much as they do inside it. Our students use their university experience to build knowledge and experience that improves society, so that they can make a difference in their communities.

Our programs provide a broad spectrum of traditional and innovative learning across arts and social sciences, business and economics, music, science, social work and education. Ultimately, they reflect a common purpose: Laurier’s determination to address global social, health and environmental problems and advance creative pursuits.

Teaching and Learning shapes and inspires exceptional learning environments inside and outside the classroom by developing and supporting teaching excellence and innovation, holistic student success programs, and experiential learning opportunities.

Our professional teams contribute to a culture where teachers and learners feel highly encouraged, valued and empowered. This intentional collaboration of inclusive teaching and learning supports is part of what makes Laurier unique.

In-class learning is only part of the educational equation. Putting knowledge to work in the world is a hallmark of the Laurier experience. Experiential learning opportunities such as co-op work terms and community service are purposefully designed to help students relate what they learn in the classroom to what they experience outside of it. As a result, Laurier students graduate with both the theory and skills needed to succeed in the world that awaits them after university. It’s about forming a foundation of service that our students continue long after graduation.

At Laurier, we measure our success by the impact we make. Purposeful teaching, learning, research, and community experiences enable our students, alumni, staff and faculty to make a meaningful difference in their communities and the wider world.

Laurier is committed to offering you a truly Canadian experience and we take pride in being an inclusive community that celebrates diversity. Discover why 96% of international students recommend Canada as a study destination, and how Laurier’s campuses provide an ideal location to live, work and play.

Location

Waterloo, Canada

Laurier’s two biggest campuses are in Waterloo and Brantford, but we also have a Faculty of Social Work in Kitchener and a weekend MBA program in Toronto. In 2019, Laurier will establish the first phase of its presence in Milton. All our campuses and locations are about an hour’s drive (or less!) away from Toronto, Canada’s biggest city.

WATERLOO

Of Laurier’s 19,000 graduate and undergraduate students, 16,000 are enrolled at our Waterloo campus, which trades on the energy from the thriving, tech-savvy Region of Waterloo. Faculties in Arts, Music, Science, Education, Graduate Studies and the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics are based here. Laurier is a leading force in research among Canadian universities, and many of our research centres and institutes are housed here.

BRANTFORD

Study at campus where you’re never far from your latest outdoor adventure. More than 3,000 students are enrolled at Laurier’s Brantford campus, which is rooted in the downtown core yet close to great walking and biking trails. The faculties of Liberal Arts and Human and Social Sciences are based here.

MILTON

Laurier, in partnership with Conestoga College, is committed to extending Laurier’s high-quality academic and student experience along the Toronto-Waterloo Innovation Corridor to the fast-growing community of Milton. Much planning has already been done with the Town of Milton, Conestoga College and other partners to lay the groundwork for a successful Laurier site in Milton, and discussion is underway to define the first phase of the project.

KITCHENER

Laurier’s Lyle S. Hallman Faculty of Social Work program is housed in a fully renovated century-old building in downtown Kitchener. Close to 300 graduate students are based in the heart of the downtown area, and minutes away from Laurier’s Waterloo campus.

TORONTO

Since 1999, the Lazaridis School has offered graduate programming in the financial district of Toronto. Each year more than 250 MBA and MFin candidates are enrolled in one of our “part-time alternate weekend programs,” located at Vantage Venues on the 27th floor of the Sun Life Financial Tower.

YELLOWKNIFE

Laurier maintains a research office in Yellowknife as part of its research partnership with the Government of the Northwest Territories. The office, which opened in 2017, allows researchers associated with the partnership to be based out of the Northwest Territories full time. This location enables year-round field research and the ability to foster close relationships with local government and Indigenous and community organizations. Staff in the Yellowknife office also facilitate events such as field courses for Laurier and local students, as well as other community engagement activities.
