New England College

New England College or NEC was founded in 1946, New England College has been recognized for innovative academic programs and leadership in experiential education. NEC is a private, non-profit college, located in the quintessential New England town of Henniker, New Hampshire dedicated to providing exceptional education for undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students from all over the world.

Ranked by U.S. News and World Report in the top tier of baccalaureate colleges in the north, New England College prepares students in a manner that is robust, thorough and engaging. We call it “experiential learning,” or learn-by-doing. Whether it be a course in business or philosophy, NEC professors incorporate hands-on experience into the curriculum, so students graduate with more than just a degree.

NEC has thrown out its traditional “academic calendar” and is trailblazing a new and less expensive path to higher education. Year-round course offerings – 5 semester choices per year – enables students to accelerate their development, reduce costs, and take further advantage of the campus’ environmental benefits.

Programs: 42 Bachelor’s degree programs, 25 Master’s degree programs, and one Doctoral degree program are all delivered in the liberal arts tradition, and with an emphasis on experiential learning, by dedicated and accomplished faculty.

Students: Approximately 1,060 on-campus Henniker undergraduates, 255 on-campus Manchester undergraduates, 650 online undergraduate students, and 1,970 graduate students from all over the world attend New England College. The NEC experience is collaborative and supportive. Highly diverse, over one third of NEC’s students identify themselves as students of color.

Activities: 10 men’s and 11 women’s varsity sports, numerous intramural sports, and over 40 clubs and organizations of all kinds, along with an endless schedule of fun activities and events makes it easy to feel like you belong at NEC. Become part of Pilgrim Nation!

Internships: NEC students have benefited from over 1,000 internship opportunities, ongoing access to real-world experience, and hands-on training through active collaboration with industry partners and career counseling services.

Life at NEC is incredibly rich and fulfilling. In addition to the intellectual stretching and experiential learning that happens on a personal level, there is plenty to experience outside the classroom that makes life at NEC unique. Whether it’s exploring the outdoors, joining a sport or club, taking a field trip, or interacting with cool people on campus, there is more than enough to do.

Activities are added all the time and are regularly communicated throughout campus. We know that college is more than academics and we really enjoy making your NEC experience well rounded and memorable.
