Quinnipiac University has enjoyed a distinguished history of educating students with a thoughtful, dedicated faculty and a commitment to excellence. From our New Haven origins as the Connecticut College of Commerce in 1929, and later, the Junior College of Commerce, the university has become a nationally recognized institution with 110 academic programs, 3 campuses and a diverse learning community, including 10,000 undergraduate and graduate students.

Quinnipiac is a private, coeducational university in Southern New England where students engage in an educational experience that’s both personal and challenging from faculty who care deeply about student outcomes. Our 3 campuses are located in Hamden and North Haven, Connecticut. We offer more than 100 programs to approximately 7,000 undergraduate and 3,000 graduate students. 10,290 students are enrolled in our College of Arts and Sciences and 8 professional schools with a student-to-faculty ratio of 16 to 1.

The university are gutsy in our embrace of change; connected to the needs of the future in our research and learning programs; preparing civically-engaged and 21st century-ready graduates who will advance society;  nurture the well-being of our community and its pursuit of lifelong learning; and hungry to be a force of good in the broader world we share.

Quinnipiac provide the knowledge and tools you’ll need to make an impact in any field you choose. We focus on the professions. We deliver extraordinarily well-prepared professionals through a combination of market-driven knowledge and expertise, a world-sized classroom, academic innovation and effectiveness, and the quintessential student experience. Our approach is unique in higher education, and our network of more than 50,000 alumni and their success prove the value of a Quinnipiac education every day.

As champions of community service, our 10,000 students volunteer throughout Connecticut, from assisting with Ronald McDonald House projects and raising money for charities to motivating school children in the region with Read Aloud days to beautifying neighborhoods. Our health professions students provide free clinics, and our law students perform legal services and tax preparation for residents in need. The university enriches the community with cultural opportunities, athletics and entertainment options that attract thousands annually.

Quinnipiac ranks among top 3% of universities for long-term value. The university is a national leader for long-term return on investment at the 40-year mark, providing graduates with strong earnings potential for decades after they collect their diploma, according to the first-of-its-kind study by the Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce.

Location

Hamden, Connecticut (USA)

Living in Southern New England means you’re never far from top recreational choices or the culture of major cities. Whether it’s skiing some of the best mountains in the Northeast, or grabbing dinner and seeing an off-Broadway show in downtown New Haven, you’ll enjoy all that the region has to offer.

You’ll see this collective passion come to life through our 146 student-run organizations, while volunteering in the local community or through service-learning opportunities available around the world. You’ll hear it when you experience artists like DJ Tiesto, Kesha and Jason Derulo at our exclusive Wake the Giant concert series each spring. You’ll feel it when you join your fellow Bobcats to cheer on our nationally ranked hockey and basketball teams in the York Hill Campus arenas.

  • Mount Carmel Campus

Our Mount Carmel Campus is where undergraduate students first experience their new home away from home. The picturesque quad at the foothills of the Sleeping Giant Mountain is where many students first fall in love with our university — and where most of our first- and second-year students live.

The sprawling lawns lead to the Carl Hansen Student Center — which has a full dining hall, space for our nearly 150 student organizations and spots for connecting with friends — academic buildings and the 600-seat Arnold Bernhard Library.

  • York Hill Campus

Our York Hill Campus features breathtaking, 360-degree views of New Haven, Long Island Sound, Sleeping Giant State Park and the surrounding rolling countryside. But more than that, it offers all of the comforts of home in state-of-the-art facilities including the Rocky Top Student Center, built to resemble a ski lodge with pine walls and exposed wooden beams.

Just steps away from the apartment-style residence halls is the Quinnipiac Sports Center, named the best collegiate facility in New England. The twin-arena facility is home to our men’s and women’s basketball and ice hockey teams — several of which are regularly nationally ranked, as well as the acrobatics and tumbling team. The sports center has hosted the women’s Frozen Four ice hockey tournament in 2013 — and again in March 2016.

  • North Haven Campus

Our North Haven Campus is home to our graduate programs in Education, Health Sciences, Law, Medicine and Nursing and the Master of Social Work program. The 5 professional schools are located in adjoining buildings that facilitate interdisciplinary learning.

The North Haven Campus was purposefully designed with innovative resources and facilities. It includes MRI and CT Scan equipment, simulation labs, biomechanics labs, the Ceremonial Courtroom, fully equipped education classrooms, and examination rooms for medical and health science students to practice taking patient histories and giving medical exams.
