Richard Bland College of William and Mary was established in 1960 by the General Assembly of Virginia as a branch college of The College of William and Mary. The College was named for the Virginia statesman and champion of public rights, Richard Bland. Son and grandson of successful planters, Richard Bland was educated at The College of William and Mary.
Richard Bland College has guaranteed transfer agreements with four-year colleges and universities across the Commonwealth that will enhance your educational opportunities. The Board of Visitors of William & Mary has authorized Richard Bland College to confer Associate degrees designed for transfer to four-year institutions in Virginia and throughout the United States.
The college focused on preparing students for transfer to highly-ranked colleges and universities and have guaranteed transfer agreements that allow you to seamlessly transfer to the following schools. The purpose of the William & Mary Bridge Program is to provide potential transfer students from RBC the opportunity to acclimate themselves to W&M. Richard Bland College students in the program take courses at W&M while pursuing their associate’s degree at RBC and working towards completion of the Guaranteed Admission Agreement.
The Associate of Arts Degree is designed primarily for those students who plan to complete their baccalaureate degrees in areas of the arts, humanities, or the behavioral and social sciences. Depending upon the institution to which a student may transfer and the prospective major, the Associate of Science Degree may be more appropriate. Students are urged to consult an academic advisor on this matter.
The Associate of Science Degree is designed primarily for those students who plan to complete their baccalaureate degrees in areas of education, business, health professions, social work, engineering, or one of the natural sciences. Depending upon the institution to which a student may transfer and the prospective major, the Associate of Arts Degree may be more appropriate. Students are urged to consult an academic advisor on this matter. There is no foreign language requirement to earn this degree.

Richard Bland College of William & Mary is the only two-year residential college in Virginia with over 800 acres. The residence halls were built in 2008 and offer apartment-style living with state-of-the-art amenities. Students are able to live and eat affordably starting at just $9,840 per year ranging up to $11,640 per year depending on their room assignment.
