UNSW believe that students deserve a rewarding experience, both inside and outside the classroom. The university modern campuses are in convenient locations; they are safe, and have free Wi-Fi, green spaces, and indoor and outdoor study areas with power outlets.

  • Sporting facilities and activities – Keep fit by visiting our well-equipped Fitness and Aquatic Centre, joining a football or rowing team, or booking a tennis court.
  • State-of-the-art libraries – Use our online services, borrow books, study in the student lounge or hire a room for group work.
  • Clubs and societies – Join a club or society and make new friends. Choose from more than 300 student-led clubs and societies across a range of interests. You can also join ARC, the student association run by students for students.

 

UNSW’s public events include concert performances, open days and public forums on issues such as the environment, healthcare and global politics.

The main UNSW campus is located on a 38-hectare site at Kensington, seven kilometres from the centre of Sydney. Other major campuses are Art & Design in Paddington and UNSW Canberra at the Australian Defence Force Academy. Both the Sydney campuses have regular bus services to and from the CBD and Central railway station, with nearly 1,700 UNSW Express Bus services to the Kensington campus each week. There are also Light Rail Services running between the CBD, Central and the Kensington Campus. Sydney’s other public transport services include trains, ferries and trams. A shuttle service runs between the Kensington and Paddington campuses.

  • Kensington campus

UNSW Kensington campus has everything you need, including dozens of cafes and restaurants, two banks, four ATMs, a post office, supermarket, food cooperative, pharmacy, medical centre and dentist, two libraries, a fitness and aquatic centre, and sports fields and courts.

  • Paddington campus

The Paddington campus is home to UNSW Art & Design and is centrally located in Oxford Street, Paddington. Built around a central courtyard, it has museum-standard galleries, state-of-the-art workshops, open studios, private workspaces, research and digital labs, collaboration spaces and student lounges.

  • Canberra campus

International postgraduate students can study at UNSW Canberra at the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA), which is less than five kilometres from the CBD. The campus includes a large library, computing facilities and labs, sports facilities, a cafe and a bookshop.
