University of Sheffield: Kanison Jongutsah
I decided to come to Sheffield because it has a good reputation around the world and it looked like a great place to study. They’ve also invested a lot in facilities and in the students union.
I studied Russian before and I think that languages are really important but it is also important to have an understanding of how to communicate across cultures. The MA in Intercultural Communication prepares you to work with people from lots of different cultures both similar and different to you. What I like most about my course is that I get to share my knowledge of Thai culture in class with students and lecturers from different cultural backgrounds. I get to work with people who share the same interests and we talk and learn about culture.
I think Sheffield was a good choice for me, facilities in the University are great, you have the opportunity to take part in lots of new activities all the time. I really like living here.
