You can expect to learn and build knowledge on some of the following aspects during these clinics:

  • Understand the importance of the Statement of Purpose (SoP) in the admissions process.
  • Learn how to clearly articulate your interest(s) in your chosen course and university.
  • Elevate your SoP by brainstorming your academic and professional experiences with your coach and identifying your key competencies.
  • Understand the level of depth required when providing examples to demonstrate your alignment with the course.
  • Explore sample essays to develop your understanding of SoP structure, style, tone, and depth.
  • Gain an understanding of scholarship essays and how they differ from SoPs.

SoP Clinic are open to all students, which means it doesn’t matter whether you have drafted your SoP or not. However, if you already have a draft of your SoP and/or CV, we strongly encourage you to bring it along so our mentors can provide more personalized and constructive feedback.

There is no charge to attend these clinics; all students who use Hands On service for their application are welcome to join.
